The Australia Awards Scholarships in India fund Indian students to study full-time undergraduate, postgraduate or short courses in Australia. It is open to Indian citizens who can show leadership potential and a commitment to return home after study. The scholarships are part of Australia’s long-term effort to deepen educational and economic ties with India.
Applicants must hold a recognised bachelor’s degree for master’s level entry or a higher secondary certificate for undergraduate entry. They should belong to one of the target groups: women, people from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, other backward classes, economically weaker sections, persons with disabilities, or be from the north-east region. No prior work experience is required, but leadership and community engagement are assessed.
Download the latest information sheet from the official Australia Awards India page. Prepare academic transcripts, proof of English language ability if required, and two referee reports. Submit the application online through the OASIS portal before the published closing date.
