Boston University Trustee Scholars Program

The Boston University Trustee Scholars Program is a full-tuition merit scholarship for outstanding undergraduate students from around the world. Each year, Boston University selects approximately 20 Trustee Scholars who demonstrate exceptional academic achievements, intellectual curiosity, and leadership qualities. These scholars are not only top performers in their high school classes but also bring unique perspectives, creative thinking, and a commitment to making a difference.

The program aims to nurture individuals who challenge conventional norms and contribute meaningfully to the BU community and beyond.

Open to international undergraduate applicants applying for their first bachelor’s degree. Candidates must rank in the top 5-10% of their high school class and typically have a perfect 4.0 grade point average or equivalent. The selection committee looks for students who exhibit intellectual adventurousness, creativity, and leadership beyond academic excellence.

No income or financial need criteria apply; selection is purely merit-based.

Submit the Common Application for undergraduate admission by the stated deadline. Select the Trustee Scholars Program option in the application and answer additional essay questions specific to the scholarship. Finalists may be invited for an interview.
