The Gates Cambridge Scholarship Programme offers fully-funded postgraduate scholarships to outstanding students from outside the UK to study at the University of Cambridge. Established in 2000 with a $210 million donation from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the scholarship covers the full cost of study. Each year, around 80 scholarships are awarded across all academic disciplines, with about two-thirds supporting PhD students.

Open to citizens of any country except the UK. Applicants must apply for a full-time postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge. Selection is based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and a demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of others. No specific income or marks thresholds are mandated, but candidates must meet the university's admission requirements.
Apply through the University of Cambridge’s Graduate Admission and Scholarship Application form. Select the Gates Cambridge funding option and submit all required documents by the university’s deadline. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview.
