Harvard University – Environmental Fellows Program

The Harvard University Environmental Fellows Program supports recent PhD graduates from any country who want to work with Harvard faculty on environmental research. The two-year fellowship lets fellows use Harvard’s resources to address complex environmental challenges while building interdisciplinary connections across the university. Each fellow receives a salary of $68,000 per year, health insurance, and a $2,500 allowance for travel and professional expenses.

The program is designed for early-career researchers committed to advancing environmental science and policy through collaborative research at Harvard.

Applicants must have completed their PhD between May 2022 and August 2024. The program is open to candidates from any discipline, including natural sciences, social sciences, engineering, and public policy. There are no nationality or income restrictions.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong research background and a commitment to environmental issues. Harvard faculty members do not need to be pre-identified.

Submit an online application through the Harvard Environmental Fellows Program portal. Required materials include a research proposal, CV, three letters of recommendation, and a writing sample. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
