The Malaysian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan is a Government of Malaysia award for students from Commonwealth countries, including India, to pursue full-time postgraduate programmes in Malaysia. The scholarship covers tuition fees, a living allowance, and other approved expenses. Awards are available for both Masters (12–24 months) and PhD (3 years) programmes at Malaysian public universities.
Candidates must secure admission to a full-time programme before applying for the scholarship.
Applicants must be citizens of Commonwealth countries, including India, and hold a first-class or upper-second-class honours degree for Masters programmes or a Masters degree for PhD programmes. There is no age limit, and candidates from all disciplines are eligible. The scholarship is open to all genders and does not impose income or caste-based restrictions.
Applicants must apply for a full-time programme at a Malaysian public university before submitting the scholarship application.
Apply online through the official portal at bisiswa.mohe.gov.my/INTER. Register, fill in personal and academic details, and upload required documents such as degree certificates, transcripts, a research proposal (for PhD), and a university admission letter. Submit the application before the deadline and ensure all supporting documents are attested or verified as per the guidelines.
Late or incomplete applications are not considered.
