The Malaysian International Scholarship (MIS) is a Malaysian Government initiative that funds international students to study at Malaysian public or private universities. It targets academically strong students with excellent records and notable extracurricular achievements. The scholarship covers tuition fees, a living allowance, and other approved expenses while students pursue undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programmes in Malaysia.
Open to international students under 40 years of age. Applicants must hold a strong academic record and demonstrate leadership or community involvement. The official page lists current minimum CGPA or percentage requirements for each study level.
There are no income thresholds, but proof of financial need may be considered in selection.
Apply online through the official MIS portal before the stated deadline. Prepare academic transcripts, proof of co-curricular activities, a research proposal (for postgraduate applicants), and two referee letters. Shortlisted candidates may be interviewed.
All documents must be certified and submitted in English.
