McDonald Fellowships

The McDonald Fellowships support young researchers from emerging countries who wish to pursue multiple sclerosis (MS) research or patient care outside their home country. The fellowship provides funding to cover travel and living costs for up to two years, along with a contribution to the host institution. Recipients gain access to advanced training, expertise, and global networks, enabling them to advance MS research or clinical practice in their home countries after completing the fellowship.

Applicants must be under 40 years of age and hold a postgraduate degree in a relevant field. They must be citizens of an emerging country and currently working or studying in an MS-related field. The fellowship is open to researchers at all academic levels, including those in clinical practice.

There are no minimum marks or income thresholds specified.

Interested candidates must submit an application through the official portal listed on the MS International Federation (MSIF) website. The application requires a research proposal, letters of recommendation, and proof of affiliation with a research or clinical institution. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview.
