Newton International Fellowships

The Newton International Fellowship supports early-career postdoctoral researchers from partner countries, including India, to conduct research at UK institutions for up to two years. Established in 2008, the scheme is jointly run by the Royal Society, British Academy, and Academy of Medical Sciences. It provides funding for living costs and research expenses, enabling scholars to advance their work in collaboration with UK experts.

The fellowship is open to researchers across all academic disciplines, fostering international collaboration and scientific excellence.

Applicants must be citizens of a Newton Fund partner country, such as India, and hold a PhD or be in the final stages of completing one. They should have no more than seven years of full-time postdoctoral experience at the time of application. Candidates must not hold UK citizenship.
