SAARC Agricultural PhD Scholarships

The SAARC Agricultural PhD Scholarships support Indian and other South Asian students pursuing doctoral research in agricultural economics at Sri Lankan institutions. Administered by the SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC), these scholarships aim to strengthen regional collaboration in agricultural research and technology transfer. The programme fosters partnerships between research institutions and policymakers across South Asia to address shared agricultural challenges.

Applicants must be citizens of SAARC member countries except Bangladesh, including India, and must be regular employees in agricultural research or development. Candidates should hold a relevant postgraduate degree and be enrolled or seeking admission to a PhD programme in agricultural economics. Preference may be given to applicants with prior research experience or institutional affiliations.

Submit a completed application form along with required documents to the Director, SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC), Dhaka, Bangladesh, before the specified deadline. Include proof of citizenship, academic transcripts, research proposal, and a letter of recommendation from a supervisor or employer. Ensure all materials meet the SAC’s format and submission guidelines to avoid disqualification.
