Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships 2027-2028

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships for 2027-2028 support outstanding Indian students and researchers who wish to pursue postgraduate studies or conduct research at Swiss higher education institutions. These scholarships foster international academic exchange and collaboration. Awards are granted based on academic excellence, research potential, and alignment with Swiss institutions' priorities.

The program is administered by the Swiss Confederation in partnership with the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

Open to Indian citizens holding a recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree for postgraduate studies or research. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic records and secure admission or a research invitation from a Swiss higher education institution. Preference is given to candidates under 35 years of age, though exceptions apply for postdoctoral researchers.

Proficiency in the language of instruction (German, French, Italian, or English) is required.

Apply through the Swiss diplomatic mission in India or the official Swiss representation in your country. Submit a completed application form, research proposal or study plan, academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and proof of language proficiency. Include a letter of acceptance or invitation from a Swiss institution if applicable.
