The Joint Japan / World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) funds students from developing countries to pursue graduate studies in development-related fields at selected universities worldwide. The scholarship covers full tuition, a monthly living stipend, and additional expenses such as travel and books. It targets mid-career professionals and researchers committed to contributing to their home countries' economic and social development.
Applicants must be nationals of a World Bank member developing country and hold a bachelor’s degree earned at least three years before the application deadline. They should have at least three years of relevant work experience in development-related fields. Priority is given to candidates under 45 years of age and those with strong academic records.
Official transcripts and proof of employment are required.
Apply online through the official JJ/WBGSP application portal listed on the World Bank’s scholarships page. Prepare academic transcripts, employment certificates, and two professional references. Submit a completed application form along with a development-focused statement of purpose.
