Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program

The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program (WU Scholars) supports young people worldwide in pursuing post-secondary education. Each selected student receives USD 2,500 to help cover tuition or school fees at an accredited institution. Recipients are chosen based on three key values: perseverance in overcoming challenges, aspiration to achieve academic and career goals, and a commitment to community service.

The program is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), a US-based non-profit organization. It aims to empower students who demonstrate financial need and a strong drive to succeed despite obstacles.

Open to students at any post-secondary level (undergraduate, graduate, or vocational). Applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic potential, and a commitment to community service. Priority is given to students from underserved or economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

There are no strict marks or income thresholds, but a strong academic record and extracurricular involvement are considered. The program is open to applicants from all countries, including India.
