Eligibility

There is no academic qualification requirement for taking the Michigan English Test, and it is open to candidates whose first language is not English, at the proficiency range the test is designed for. Registration is made through Michigan Language Assessment or an authorised test centre, and candidates must present acceptable original photographic identification issued by a government authority on the day of the test, in the form the test regulations describe. Where a version of the test is intended for younger candidates or for a specific purpose, the conducting body states which group it is meant for.
