Ottawa, ON (Aug.6, 2026) – Advanced technology learners materialize ideas at Algonquin College’s Technology Project Showcase, highlighting over 60 student-created projects with over 40 industry guest judges.

On Thursday, Aug. 6, Minto Hall in the Algonquin College Centre for Construction Excellence was abuzz with excitement as learners from the School of Advanced Technology displayed their concepts and technical skills in the Spring edition of the Project Showcase.

The showcase connected learners directly with leaders from organizations such as Google Cloud, Department of National Defence, NAV Canada, General Dynamics, Teldio, Snowed In Studios, among others.

“Our capstone projects are a powerful example of applied learning at its best. They pair learners with industry partners to explore ideas and develop innovative solutions. This collaboration gives learners the opportunity to apply their knowledge, work as teams and tackle real-world challenges,” said Sandra Brancatelli, Dean, School of Advanced Technology. “In today’s showcase, we’re seeing firsthand projects that reflect strong technical skills and creativity, resilience, and problem-solving. These are exactly the qualities that matter in today’s industry, and they are on full display this afternoon.”

Showcasing solutions to real-world challenges across technology and applied research, the event highlights the strength of Algonquin College learners and the value of hands-on, industry-connected education. For participating employers, it offers a direct look at emerging talent and innovative thinking in action.
