The film school actually let you touch cameras VS most programs who make you study theory and serve graduation students your first 4 years. Also, the student radio station was easy to get involved in and I really loved being a part of that. In the 90s, GVSU had a 2 to 1 girl to boy population ratio. Little did I know that Grand Rapids was pretty conservative at the time, so the ratio didn't really do me much good. I don't think either the ratio or the conservativeness are still true these days though. Grand Rapids seems about 80% cooler now than it was then.
