{"text":"The State University of New York at New Paltz (SUNY New Paltz or New Paltz) is a public university in New Paltz, New York. It traces its origins to the New Paltz Classical School, a secondary institution founded in 1828 and reorganized as an academy in 1833.\nToday, it offers both graduate and undergraduate courses. There are several schools and colleges under New Paltz, namely the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, School of Fine & Performing Arts, School of Science & Engineering, and graduate school.

There are nearly 100 undergraduate and over 50 graduate degree programs offered at New Paltz. With an annual acceptance rate of around 45% getting into the institution provides some tough competition.\nOut of the 7,757 students at the college, 6,807 are studying in undergraduate programs while 950 are in postgraduate programs.
