Ohio State University History
The Ohio State University history dates back to 1870, when the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College was established by the Ohio General Assembly, the land for which was made available, thanks to the land-grant act passed by, then US President, Abraham Lincoln. The first day of classes of the university took place in 1873. In 1876, the college established a fixed curriculum for the first two years of schooling. 1878 saw the institute rename to Ohio State Universty.
In 1968, the Ohio State College of Arts and Sciences divide into five colleges: Arts, Biological Sciences, Humanities, Social and Behavioural Sciences and Mathematical and Physical Sciences. In 2010, the OSU College of Arts and Sciences was reunified. Until the late 1980s, Ohio State had an open admissions policy but in the early 2000s, the college had raised standards for admission and has been cited as one of the best public universities in the US.

Ohio State University Scholarships

Dr. Suguru Furuichi Memorial Scholarship
This is a partial tuition scholarship. Only one scholarship is offered to eligible international students. UG and PG students are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship amount ranges between USD 500 – USD 3,000, based on need
International Student Grant
This is a partial tuition grant that is offered to international students each semester to international students at OSU University. Under this grant, there is a limit of one grant award per degree level. To avail this scholarship, the applicants must have showcased a financial need to complete the current degree. Also, the applicants should have a 2.5 GPA of UG and 3.0 for PG.
