History
Classes at the University of Kansas City (UKC) started in 1933. However, the history of this university can be traced back to the 1920s. In 1930, 80 students became the first graduating class of the university. In 1947, the university opened admissions to students of all races. Then, in 1953, the School of Business Administration was established. Finally, in 1963, after three decades of being a private institution, the financial instability of UKC led it to become a part of the University of Missouri system.
