Winner of the National Research Agency's “Excellence in All Its Forms” call for projects, UPPA intends to significantly increase its student enrollment and consolidate its research capabilities in the French Basque Country.

Officially launched in Pau, France, on November 27, 2025, the chair will focus on uranium extraction using the in-situ recovery process, an extraction technique that addresses significant environmental challenges.
