Every night of a two-week trip to Chile, students Adam Williams and Samuel Jayroe would look up at a sky so dark they could see the Milky Way. During the day, they hiked among shrubs and rocky hills as they collected environmental data that could help researchers better understand the degu—one of Chile’s most recognizable native animals. In 2024, the Journey Health Foundation Research Center was established with a donation from the Journey Health Foundation. The center focuses on the health and welfare of residents in 27 counties across Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and Alabama. Dr. Hemant Jain, director of the center, explained that the center uses data analysis to identify the root causes of issues communities may be facing. Continue Reading
