University of Utah

Established in 1850 as the University of Deseret by the General Assembly of the provisional State of Deseret, the institution was renamed the University of Utah in 1892 and moved to its present site in 1900. As Utah's oldest higher education establishment, it stands as the state's second-largest public university, recording a student enrollment of 34,705 in Fall 2022. The university is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU) and boasts notable research prowess, garnering $552 million in research funding in 2018 (ranking 45th nationwide). Its academic offerings include prominent graduate destinations such as the S.J. Quinney College of Law and Utah's premier medical school.
